Abstract

Four different analytical methods were used to measure unsteady flow velocity and chordwise pressure distributions on a pitching rotor blade in hover. The experiments were performed using a two-blade, full-scale teetering tail rotor with and without dynamic pitch excitation. Results show that the four methods are capable of giving highly-reliable estimates of unsteady flow velocity.
