Abstract
- A study on Salmonella-plant interactions leading to plant colonization were conducted to gain better insight into outbreaks of salmonellosis related to consumption of fresh produce. The findings for Salmonella internalization of leaves might provide a partial explanation for the failure of sanitizers to efficiently eradicate food-borne pathogens in leafy greens.
