Abstract

The establishment in recent years of learning institutions that offer operations management (OM) courses across the UK indicate the healthy state of OM as a discipline. The institutions, such as the London Business School, and Cambridge University, offer different courses that include supply chain management, strategy process and performance, and comparative operational performance and logistics. The government has long encouraged the manufacturing and service industries to adopt ideal OM approaches to improve their economic performance.
