Create a competitive workplace culture

Employee motivation was at the heart of efficiency improvement program at the Merom generating station of the Hoosier Energy Inc. The Hoosier management tied job security, worker incentive and workplace safety into the efficiency improvement program. Competitive pressures forced the Hoosier management into such a program, hoping that the program will reduce costs and increase customer satisfaction to their service. The program entailed negotiating with the union and educating them to the efficiency goals of the program.
