Abstract

Reactions of differing simple cobalt salts with 4,4'-bipyridine resulted in several new one-dimensional coordination polymers. Linear chain structures formed by coordination of pyrazine and 4,4'-bipy to metal centers can be expanded to form 2D and/or 3D polymers via other connections. The double chain structure of Cu(C(sub8)H(sub6)N(sub2))C1(sub2) is viewed as a limited extension of a single-chain polymer.
