Phosphodiesterase type 5 inhibitors for pulmonary arterial hypertension

The case of a 46-year-old woman with progressive exertional dyspnea and recurrent exertional syncope is discussed to better understand the causes, symptoms, treatment and management of patients with pulmonary arterial hypertension. The advantages and disadvantages of use of phosphodiesterase type 5 inhibitors are also highlighted.
