Abstract
- Researchers investigated employment in the Swiss financial sector. They examined the situation in the nation as a whole, in the city of Zurich, and in the Zurich suburbs. They concluded that employment in Swiss banks is male-dominated and that the majority of employees in the city are male. Female employment is concentrated in clerical and secretarial work, and in the suburban areas. Only 10% of women employees are in decision-making posts. The investigation also revealed the processes which led to clerical functions moving away from the city and into suburban locations.
