Abstract
- The K3 U-turn atomic coordinates and molecular dynamic (MD) simulations are utilized to model K3 channels in the [[beta].sub.2]-microglobulin ([[beta].sub.2]m) amyloid membrane deposits that are linked to dialysis-related amyloidosis (DRA) in hemodialysis patients. The results provide insight into the [[beta].sub.2]m-induced DRA which could be mediated by ion channels formed by its K3 fragment and its ability to form ion channels that might play a generic role in toxicity.
