Abstract

A study conducts a phylogenetic analysis of Southeast Asian Crocidura shrews to investigate the impact of geographical or temporal processes in the archipelago in their diversification. Results indicate that volcanic uplifts and sea level fluctuations have not strongly affected their diversification rates, suggesting that the dynamic archipelagos provide added opportunities for the allopatric diversification of the shrews through colonization of additional areas.
