Abstract
- Regular frequently sampled intravenous glucose tolerance test (rFSIGT) and insulin-modified frequently sampled intravenous glucose tolerance test (mFSIGT) were compared based on insulin sensitivity index and glucose effectiveness in 16 normal subjects. Both rFSIGT and mFSIGT had similar insulin sensitivity index but their glucose effectiveness differed by 28%. The advantage of rFSIGT is that it measures endogenous insulin activity in the test subjects.
