Abstract

A survey of prison inmates indicates that most are drug users but want help to break their addiction. Although 71% of the respondents surveyed indicated they were using drugs, the highest percentage of responses requested assistance. This includes establishing drug free units, health education, HIV testing, staff education, full detoxification and rehabilitation.
