Businesses will pay for high unemployment in R.I

Rhode Island businesses are expected to pay more in unemployment insurance tax starting January 2010 to cover the debt incurred by the state from the federal government and to replenish the fund. The tax hike is in the form of an automatic increase in the taxable wage base which comes when the fund drop down low. The local business community's reactions are also given.
