Abstract
- Reconciliation of trade and environment issues such as use of unilateral trade related environment measures, process and production method and trade restrictive measures in multilateral environmental agreements are the major concerns of international conferences. Attempts to address the argument have resulted in the 1992 UN Conference on Environment and Development (UNCED). Many, however, were not satisfied with the outcome. The Jun 1997 UN General Assembly Special Session on Agenda 21 was a follow up to the UNCED, but was also perceived as a failure.
