Abstract

A study was conducted to analyze the effects of salt on the thermal stability of a hyperthermophile Pyrococcus furiosus (PfMAP) using differential scanning calorimetry at various pHs. Enzymatic activities were determined in the presence of 1 mM CoCl2 at pH 7.0 while the gene of PfMAp was altered into Escherichia coli. Results indicated that electrostatic interaction is a critical factor in stabilizing the native form of PfMAP.
