Abstract

The softdrinks market in the Czech Republic shows a slight increase dominated by the domestic company, Coca-Cola and Pepsi Cola. Reports show that 118 liters of softdrinks have been consumed in the country in 1997 as compared to 101 liters in 1993. Likeweise, retail sales of soft drinks amounted to CK13,921 mil in 1997 as compared to CK9,538 mil in 1993. However, overall market shows market share growth of fruit juices, mineral water and sports energy drinks over that of carbonated drinks, which represent the most popular soft drinks sector. Supermarkets and hypermarkets are the dominant distributors of soft drinks in the Czech Republic.
