Crustal structure and orogenic material budget in the west central Pyrenees

A study was conducted on the crustal structure and orogen of the western central Pyrenees at the boundary between the European and Iberian plates. The structure was analyzed using the ECORS-Arzacq reflection profile and refraction data. Results showed that the structure of the west central Pyrenees is a crustal-scale double tectonic wedge and that the total orogenic contraction is around 75-80 km and occurred between the latest Cretaceous and early Miocene.
