On the dynamics of vibration absorbers with motion-limiting stops

Research has established a mechanical model to describe the dynamics of vibration absorbers with motion-limiting stops. The chaotic vibrations, lower damping and nonlinear effects are described through the use of refined contact-noncontact criteria. Numerical analysis is given to illustrate theoretical observations regarding chaotic responses.
