Abstract

The mechanical instabilities of hydrogel microlenses triggered by concentrated loadings are examined. The nontrivial instability pathways have disclosed the richness of the mechanical behavior of hydrogel microlenses and have provided potential strategies to control the design and shape of complex hydrogel microlenses.
