Stereoselective synthesis of [alpha]-alkyl-[beta]-keto imides via asymmetric redox C-C bond formation between [alpha]-alkyl-[alpha]-diazocarbonyl compounds and aldehydes

The article presents a new approach for the synthesis of the [alpha]-alkyl-[beta]-keto imides with a chiral nonracemic tertiary stereogenic center. The asymmetric redox C-C bond formation between [alpha]-alkyl-[alpha]-diazocarbonyl compounds and aldehydes is shown to be the main principal used in the methodology.
