Production cuts possible at Airbus: jet maker's chief won't rule out pullback in '09 if airlines stay strapped

After shelving plans to boost output this year and trimming production on some aircraft models as much as 22%, aircraft maker Airbus may need to further cut output next year because of poor market conditions and limited access to credit. Airbus had 21 cancellations against 147 new orders through August 31, and 777 net orders last year.
