Abstract

The automotive textiles marketplace is expanding to meet the increasing demands of automobile manufacturers. Textiles are used to insulate vehicles from noise and vibration. Needlebonded and thermal-bonded textiles are commonly used in automobiles. Other constructions under consideration include meltblown and spunbonded textiles. Flocked upholstery is commonly used by car manufacturing giants including Ford and Chrysler.
