Abstract
- Research was conducted to examine the controlled regioselective anilide formation from aspartic and glutamic acid anhydrides. Controlled regioselectivity was performed on aniline with a series of N-protected aspartic and glutamic acid anhydrides through the choice of reaction solvent. The formation of either aspartic acid beta-anilide or glutamic acid gamma-anilide was favored in DMSO while aspartic or glutamic acid alpha-anilides were favored in benzene. Results indicate the efficiency of the method for the formation of glutamic and aspartic acid anilide bonds.
