Legitimacy and parliamentary oversight in Australia: the rise and fall of two public accounts committees

A study was conducted to examine the question of whether Victorian Committee of Public Accounts (VCPA) and the Joint Committee of Public Accounts (JCPA) were established for the intention of legitimating governments. Findings reveal that JCPA has being copied from VCPA and VCPA has being copied from U.K. House of Commons Committee of Public Accounts.
