Abstract
- The analysis of Lyme borreliosis (LB) spirochetes by using a novel multilocus sequence analysis scheme has shown that OspA serotype 4 strains of Borrelia garinii are genetically distinct from bird-associated B. garinii strains to deserve status. The rooted phylogenetic trees have helped in understanding the evolutionary history of LB spirochetes.
