Abstract
- The first structurally characterized example of a heterodimetallic lanthanide complex is presented. The synthetic route involves a tripodal ligand with imine linkers, which offers 10 potential coordination sites all employed to encapsulate two identical or different lanthanide ions. The tripodal ligand is also capable to support a magnetic interaction between the two lanthanide ions. The approach proves to be a general route for preparing homo- and heterodinuclear complexes.
