Abstract
- 9Be nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy and X-ray analysis were utilized to characterize (Be3(mu-OH)3(H2O)6)(picrate)3*6H2O, prepared by isolating the trimeric species (Be(H2O))4(super 2+) as the picrate salt. Results showed that (Be3(mu-OH)3-(H2O)6)(super 3+) cations and picrate anions, with water molecules interspersed in the lattice, comprise the molecular structure of (Be3(mu-OH)3(H2O)6)(C6H2N3O7)3*6H2O. The formation of this trimeric complex is attributed to a hydrolysis process, which was afforded by the dissolution of picric acid in benzene.
