Abstract
- A study was conducted to determine whether IgE-mediated reactions or atopy is associated with the manifestations of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) features in 312 children referred to a pediatric allergist. It was hypothesized that the severity of IgE-mediated atopy and the symptomatology of ADHD are related. The study found no evidence suggesting a relationship between IgE-mediated responsiveness and ADHD, although this does not necessarily mean that such an association is not possible through some other mechanism.
