Ports strive to move state lawmakersinto their camp

The Texas Ports Authority is busily preparing their lobbying agenda for the biennial session of the Texas Legislature in Austin, TX in January 1999. The authority has already lined up several key issues such as more financial support for Texas ports, dredging requirements, rail congestion and the reauthorization of the Intermodal Surface Transportation Efficiency Act. Texas port officials despair over the little assistance the industry gets from the state.
