Shape control of Al nanoclusters by ligand size

Density functional their calculations are used for studying the ligand-protected [Al.sub.7] and [Al.sub.77] clusters. The studies have shown that the shape, and thus the properties of Al nanoclusters are controlled by using ligands with different sizes.
