Abstract

A study was conducted to determine, operationalize and evaluate the facets of the concept of 'nativism' to establish sound immigration regulations. Empirical data analysis was used where 'immigration restrictionism' functions as one of the dependent variables. Other dependent variables such as class, threat, race, welfare and job were also analyzed. Results showed that immigrants are perceived as a threat to the dominant culture which can be a basis for immigration restriction.
