Abstract

A study was conducted on the influence fatty acid and glucose concentrations on lipoprotein lipase activity in cultured cardiomyocytes from adult rat hearts. Results reveal that glucose did not effect either cellular- or heparin-releasable-lipoprotein lipase activities. Results, however, show that fatty acids selectively decrease heparin-releasable lipoprotein lipase activity in cardomyocytes.
