Abstract

The response to an article on the involvement of cultural politics in landscape representation is presented. Colonial power relations were established in British Columbia through the characterization of nature as a realm separate from culture. The article was directed towards geographers and environmentalists. It is believed that colonial pasts will continue to affect the present at the same time that colonial relations are reproduced and contested in the present.
