Abstract

The Brookhaven Protein Data Bank (PDB) has over 6,000 three-dimensional structures of biological macromolecules which consist of proteins and nucleic acids. The data provides the names, sequences and formulae of the molecules, the authors who solved the structure, literature references, and other experimental details. The Web makes such data readily accessible for scientific community study and research. PDBsum is a kind of database that provides a summary of the molecules in each PDB file together with various analyses of their structural features.
