Abstract
- Ilaris, a drug from Novartis AG used to treat cryopyrin-associated periodic syndrome, or CAPS, has been given approval by the United States Food and Drug Administration, The disease is extremely rare, an inherited disorder which is caused by the mutation in a single gene. Consequently, the drug Ilaris is likely to be one of the most expensive drugs in the world.
