Abstract
- A multiple-case study of the various rural Chinese entrepreneurial firms is conducted to examine the various institutional and social determinants of social entrepreneurship in a transitional economy. Market preserving authoritarianism, community culture and market orientation are shown to be some of the major factors that affect these enterprises.
