Abstract

Magnetic entropy change and refrigerant capacity of Gd-based amorphous [Gd.sub.71][Fe.sub.3][Al.sub.26] and [Gd.sub.65][Fe.sub.20][Al.sub.15] alloys are examined. A very large refrigerant capacity and magnetic entropy change have made them good candidates for magnetic refrigerant.
