Abstract
- The various mechanisms involved in the reaction of benzoylformate decarboxylase (BFDC) with methyl benzoylphosphonate (MBP) inhibitors are discussed. The reaction is shown to lead to the formation of a tetrahedral adduct C2[alpha]-mandelyl-thiamin diphosphate.
