Abstract

A study related to crystal structure determination of the full transporter MalFGK2 in complex with the maltose binding protein (MBP) is described. The periplasmic loop P2 of MalF (MalF-P2) is observed to fold independently in solution and is found to adopt a well-defined tertiary structure similar to the one found in the crystal.
