Abstract
- Geoffrey Chaucer's the 'Nun's Priest's Tale,' from 'Canterbury Tales,' stretched rhetorical and religious language boundaries. The fable portrayed the need to confine aberrant thinking but the writing of the tale deviated from accepted practices and supported an expansion of ideas. The 'Nun's Priest's Tale' demonstrated how the attempt to restrict ideas and movement often resulted in their expansion. Chaucer's writing reflected the changes and transitions of the period.
