Abstract

The switched digital video (SDV) is gaining popularity despite the dominance of packetized video on the Internet. This technology is a digital transport tool that effectively transfers circuit-switched video via clear channels. SDV is increasingly being used in such applications as 'virtual meetings,' remote shopping networks, surgical theaters and banking kiosks.
