Abstract
- The sensitivity of Penaeus japonicus to fenitrothion increased from larval stages to postlarvae and to juveniles. Larval stages from nauplii to mysis are the most tolerant and postlarvae are the most sensitive to fenitrothion. In juveniles kept in seawater and in diluted seawater, fenitrothion was observed to decrease the hypo- and hyper-osmoregulatory capacity in young shrimps after exposure to lethal and sub-lethal concentrations of fenitrothion in a dose and time-dependent manner.
