Abstract
- The exchange equilibria for hydrogen, potassium and sodium in magmatic-hydrothermal systems are studied. Experiments on the three-phase system, high-silica melt + low-salinity aqueous vapor + hydrosaline brine at 800 degrees Centigrade and 100 MPa and 850 degrees Centigrade and 50 MPa show that the hydrogen-sodium and hydrogen potassium exchange constants are inversely proportional to the total chloride concentration in the vapor + brine mixture.
