Rebates and energy-efficiency labelling towards given performance standards effectively heighten consumer demand for electrical appliances. However, consumer impacting of rebate strategies is temporary and with no significant reduction effect on production costs. Promoting energy-efficiency standards on the other hand, promises strong market development, consumer satisfaction and competitive advantage.
