Abstract

Bi 2212 tapes 2x3.5 micrometers thick were electrolytically deposited in a sequential manner on both sides of a 50 micrometer thick silver type by oxidation reaction of precursors. MgO doping was then conducted to increase the tapes' critical current density. Results show that the MgO-doped samples had 1.4 times greater critical current density at 4.2 K than Bi 2212 precursors prepared by electrodeposition.
