Abstract

A study was conducted on the performance of Tevatron interactive region quadrupole under superfluid temperatures ranging from 1.8 K to 4.4 K. Performance was measured in terms of temperature and the protection quad heaters' effectiveness. Diffusion times were derived for different power densities, temperature and current levels. Results have potential applications in the design of magnets operating at superfluid conditions.
