Abstract

The concept of paraunitary filter banks in GF(q) with q prime is investigated. Findings indicate that all unitary matrices in GF(q) are factorizable in terms of Householder-like matrices and permutation matrices and the class of first-order paraunitary matrices or the lapped orthogonal transform in finite fields can always be represented as a product of degree-one or degree-two building blocks.
