Abstract
- Imports are once again emerging as a threat to the American steel industry. Imports, for instance, account for 23% of total supply. Low-priced steel imports from developing economies in the Commonwealth of Independent States and China are rapidly increasing while monthly import levels remain volatile which may lead to an oversupply.
