Abstract

Research shows that taurocholate absorption in the ileum via ileal brush-border membrane vesicles is stimulated and controlled by glucocorticoids. Western blot analysis techniques demonstrate that more ileal bile acid transporter (iBAT) is transcribed under the influence of glucocorticoid. Glucocorticoids appear to play an important part in ileal bile acid uptake.
