Abstract

The introduction of digital loop carriers (DLC) has made testability levels more complex. A six-step tune-up procedure for UDLC based systems is described. The first step is verifying the operation of the pair gain test controller. The second is surveying DLC systems. The third involves verifying test system availability. The fourth is examining metallic test access to customer lines. The fifth is assessing the accuracy of the line record database.
