About gift sales

Over half the gift stores surveyed in a 1996 report said that their annual sales was less than $100,000, while 24% of stores reported sales of $100,000 to $249,000. The average per-store sales in 1996 was $220,000, 27% less than the $302,844 per-store sales in 1991. Gift retailers, however, are optimistic about the future as 57% said they expected sales to rise in 1998.
